Find inspiration at WE FOR SHE, a day where Surrey School District high school students will gain the skills and confidence to make bold career choices. Learn about diversity, unconscious bias, leadership, innovative career opportunities and understand the need for gender equality in the workplace. The day includes dynamic keynote speakers, interactive polls and table discussions, thought-provoking workshops and an inspirational speaker series with local change-makers.

What is WE FOR SHE?

WE FOR SHE is a movement to boost gender equality in the workplace, grow women leaders and empower girls to be bold in their careers.

The NextGen Leaders Program is part of the WE FOR SHE movement that focuses specifically on supporting young women with mentors, champions and support. It brings young women and men in grades 10-12 and business leaders together for dialogue and mentoring in a school environment. The goals of the movement are to advance diversity and gender equality and to help girls gain the skills and confidence to make bold career choices.

BYOBF NETWORK presents WE FOR SHE

In 2017, BYOBF Network hosted the first Supergirl Within Conference. To continue on that success, in 2018 BYOBF Network presents WE FOR SHE in partnership with the Women’s Enterprise Centre and the Minerva Foundation. BYOBF Network’s WE FOR SHE will bring 100+ students and 30+ business leaders together to help young women and men step up, imagine a more diverse workplace and hear from successful women and men who are leading the way.

Young women an men from all Surrey Secondary Schools will have an opportunity to register for the conference. The conference is offered at no cost to the participants and this is why we need the community’s support to make this dream a reality.

A major conclusion: help young women gain the skills and confidence to succeed before they even start their careers.
